Wallis Farmhouse is a late Georgian Farmhouse in the picturesque village of Hardwick. We provide bed & breakfast and self-catering accommodation, close to the city of Cambridge in England. The house stands in large gardens adjoining meadows and woodland, which border the Wimpole Way. Hardwick is 5 miles from the University City of Cambridge, and 15 miles from Ely and Newmarket. The Blue Lion Inn serves excellent lunches and evening meals and is only a few steps from the Wallis Farmhouse.

Self-catering
There are four individual self-catering units at Wallis Farm. Unit one is a converted barn which comprises a twin bedded room with en-suite facilities, a double bedroom with en-suite, a sitting area with a settee that pulls out into a double bed - also with its own en-suite. The dining/kitchenette area is equipped with a hob, microwave and a refrigerator. There are three other self-catering units in a new L-shaped building. The first offers studio accommodation for 2, with a kitchenette (oven and fridge), bathroom with bath and shower. The second of these sleeps 4, with the same accommodation as the previous unit but with an extra twin bedroom. The third unit can also accommodate 4 but has a ramp for wheelchair access and a bathroom adapted to people with mobility problems. All self-catering accommodation units have gas central heating and TV. Linen is provided.

Bed & Breakfast
The Bed & Breakfast accommodation consists of six ground floor en - suite rooms in a converted barn across a courtyard from the main farmhouse. Many of the original features of the building have been retained and the twin or double rooms are furnished to a high standard. All rooms are centrally heated with colour TV, tea, and coffee making facilities. There is ample car parking in the enclosed courtyard.

Places Of Interest

Cambridge

The home of one of the oldest Universities and beautiful college buildings. A wealth of museums including the Fitzwilliam and Folk museum, plus punting on the Cam.

Many tourists visit Cambridge each year to see the historic university, its buildings and the beautiful Backs. King's College Chapel is the most famous building in Cambridge. Outside, the best views of the chapel are from Kings Parade and Queen's Road, and from its entrance via Senate House Passage or Trinity Lane.

Anglesey Abbey

A National Trust property, originally built in the 13th century, with large gardens. The 98 Acre grounds of the abbey provide a wide range of features throughout the year. 23 distinct areas have been designed to impact on your senses.

Wimpole Hall

A National Trust House set in spacious landscaped grounds and a rare breeds farm. First built in 1643 and much altered by subsequent owners, Wimpole has developed into the largest country house in Cambridgeshire.

Duxford Museum

Duxford retains its wartime atmosphere and, as many of its aeroplanes still fly, you might even see one take to the air during a visit. Over 400,000 visitors come to Duxford annually and see biplanes, Spitfires, Concorde and Gulf War jets among the 180 historic aircraft on show.

American Cemetery

First established on 7 December 1943, these 30.5 acres, donated by the University of Cambridge, were selected as a permanent American Military Cemetery due not only to the scenic grandeur, but also because a large proportion of American casualties occurred in this general area of East Anglia. The cemetery was dedicated on 16 July 1956.

The World War II Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial is located three miles west of the university city of Cambridge, England on Highway A-1303 and sixty miles north of London. It takes about four and a quarter hours driving from London. By automobile. Cambridge may also be reached by railroad from the Liverpool Street Station. Travel time is about one and a half hours.
