The Mallyan Spout Hotel is a charming, ivy-clad country house hotel, which enjoys a prominent position directly opposite the church at the quiet end of the delightful village of Goathland, which is located near Whitby and is internationally famous as ‘Aidensfield’ in the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’.
The hotel has 21 en-suite bedrooms – all rooms are individually decorated and have views of either the village church, the hotel gardens, or the Esk Valley, and have direct dial telephone and hospitality tray. Well behaved pets are welcome.
The hotel is also an ideal venue for meetings, conferences, functions and weddings. We have 2 small meeting rooms, which will accommodate up to 15 delegates for meetings and private dinners, whilst our main hotel restaurant, which overlooks the hotel gardens, will accommodate up to 70 people for private functions and weddings.
Rooms
All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, colour t.v.'s and tea and coffee making facilities. Suites and superior rooms offer exquisite views over the Esk Valley. Extra beds can be put into rooms to accommodate families at a small additional charge. Also guests bringing a dog will be charged accordingly.
Rates are inclusive of VAT at 17.5% and Full English Breakfast. It is not our policy to include a Service Charge. This is entirely at the discretion of our guests.

Dining The Mallyan Spout Hotel can offer two dining experiences:
The Valley Restaurant Enjoy a 4-course candlelit dinner in The Valley Restaurant which has delightful views over the hotel gardens and beyond out over the Esk Valley.
Our Executive Chef uses the freshest of local produce to create a wide range of superbly presented dishes.
The Mallyan Restaurant Fine dining, serving Tuesday through to Saturday inclusive from 7pm - 8:30pm (9.30pm during busy periods). We would ask all guests and customers to please pre-book your table in our Restaurant. All our food is cooked to order, using fresh local suppliers. Smart dress is required in the Restaurant. The restaurant is stictly no smoking, although the Hotel offers various smoking areas.
The Hotel Bar Guests can also enjoy homemade fayre from our Bar Menu, which is served in the Public Bar, Residents Bar and Hotel Lounges. Alternatively just enjoy a quiet drink or two in our licensed bars.
Serving daily from 12 noon through till 8:30pm (9:30pm during busy periods).
Conferences, Meetings and Functions / Weddings
The Mallyan Spout Hotel has 2 meeting / private dining rooms, which will accommodate up to 25 people. These rooms are ideal for training courses, sales meetings, Director’s meetings or a private dinner. The hotel has extensive grounds, which can be used for ‘team building’ events.
‘The Valley Restaurant’ is available for meetings and will accommodate up to 40 delegates in one part of the restaurant, with the remainder being used to accommodate lunch.
‘The Valley Restaurant’ is also a lovely venue for a wedding and can comfortably accommodate up to 70 guests. The hotel grounds provide an excellent backdrop for wedding photographs.
Other Information
Reservation Information A £50.00 deposit is required on making a reservation. We accept all major credit cards, cash, or cheque.
Deposits are refundable if more than 72 hours notice is given.
Arrivals Rooms are available from 2:30 pm on the day of arrival.
Confirmation and Deposits Credit card confirmation over the telephone or fax or a written deposit of £50.00 per room. No reduction is made for early departures.
Cancellations Full cost of any reservation will be charged if not cancelled within three days of arrival date. We advise insurance to cover all eventualities.
Credit Cards We accept all major Credit Cards except American Express.
Breakfast A full English Breakfast is served from 8.30 - 9.30am in the Dining Room.
Pets Pets are allowed in some rooms at a cost of £7.50 per night, any damage caused or extra cleaning will be charged to owners account
