'The perfect country escape', Nent Hall is located one and a half miles from Alston, England's highest market town.Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only a short drive from the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and many other English Heritage sites.
Nent Hall has eighteen en-suite bedrooms, with a variety of types to choose from, including feature rooms with four-poster beds and our luxurious 5 room Tower Suite for those special occasions. The rooms benifit from each having their own unique view of the hotel grounds, River Nent and the surrounding valley. Colour televisions with DVD facilities, telephones and hostess trays are also provided in all rooms.
Our guests can relax in the extensive tranquil gardens and you can walk along the banks of the River Nent, or walk up to several vantage points, where the whole of the valley lies beneath. Recouperate around the fire in our large lounge, which also contains an internet ready pc and wireless network coverage. Enjoy a light snack or bar meal in the Coach House with warm surroundings and a friendly atmosphere. Our specials board compliments our extensive menu and our Sunday Roast is always popular. We also cater for families with our East Wing containing family rooms which sleep up to six and also a large gravel car park covered by CCTV.
History of Nent Hall
Nent Hall was originally built in 1738 by a local mine owner. However, as well as mining lead he also had the good fortune of striking silver! The house gained its Italian style facade in 1858, after the mine owner's daughter employed am eminent architect renowned for his love of Italian design. The house has been extended many times during its life, the ten bedroom East Wing being the most recent addition as well as undergoing major refurbishment to attain the highset standards.
Accommodation
The hotel has a variety of en-suite bedrooms including feature rooms and suites. All rooms are luxuriously decorated and furnished with either traditional four-poster or brass beds. The opulent 5-room tower suite is also available for special occasions. The East Wing offers family, twin and wheelchair accessible accommodation. All rooms are non-smoking and enjoy TV and DVD facilities (complimentary DVDs may be borrowed from the extensive library).
Valley View Restaurant & Coach House Bar
Meals may be taken in the relaxed Coach House Bar or in the more formal surroundings of the Valley View restaurant. Both have excellent menus and incorporate local fare complimented by an extensive wine list

Stay in the luxurious 5 room Honeymoon Suite complimented by champagne on arrival and evening party with guests. With a pre-ordered meal or buffet in the comfort of the hotels restaurant you can have either a small, quiet wedding or go all out and have a public reception party with friends and family. Have your wedding photos taken in the scenic gardens or in the hotel lounge. Seating for 50-60 can be provided comfortably in the newly refurbished restaurant banqueting area with waitress service and food of the highest quality. A marquee can be arranged for larger functions.
Finish your day with a night in the Honeymoon Suite. Furnished to the highest standards, the suite comprises 5 rooms including, Bedroom, En-suite bathroom, Lounge, Dressing-Room and the Tower where guests can enjoy exhilarating views across the valley. Staff are on hand to suit every need. Your guests are welcome to stay in one of 17 bedrooms including family, double, twin and four poster rooms. All our rooms are En-suite and have TV and DVD Facilities. Free Telephone calls are available to all our guests.
