The Highlander stands majestically on the Esplanade on Scarborough's prestigious South Cliff where guests can enjoy panoramic views of the picturesque South Bay, harbour and historic castle.

The Hotel is situated a short distance from the Spa entertainments and the conference complex and is only a short walk away from the town centre with it's many attractive shops.

The Highlander, formerly known as Hotel Stresa, has been tastefully modernised throughout to provide a very high standard of accommodation and comfort. All rooms are en suite and are centrally heated, with tea and coffee making facilities and remote controlled colour televisions. Breakfast is served in our superb sea-view dining room, The Heathers.

The Highlander is happy to cater for small parties and conference delegates can be assured of a warm welcome. Unfortunately we do not accept small children and pets.

The Hotel bars are popular meeting places for holidaymakers, conference delegates and locals alike. A friendly and relaxing atmosphere can be found to unwind from your day's travels or excursions. Or perhaps a pre-dinner drink before you visit the Theatre or Restaurants.

The Highlander Bar is renowned for it's extensive private collection of whisky bottles which are on display. We also have a comprehensive choice of blended and malt whiskies on sale in the bar itself.
The well stocked bar offers an extensive selection of hand pulled traditional beers with changing guest brands, plus smoothflow beers, draught Guinness, sweet and dry ciders, two draught lagers and a good selection of bottled drinks.

Or spend a relaxing time, taking in the sun on our front patio overlooking the sea. Customers can further relax by enjoying one of our first class meals served in the bar every lunchtime.
